Pipe HOT Boo Boo

Well, Joey has always been one big walking boo boo, either falling down, hitting his head, or something, but this past weekend he got a major boo boo. He, Daddy, and Christina were out and as Daddy was putting Christina in the car Joey grabbed the exhaust pipe of Joe's car. Joe said he didn't cry right away, he just kept saying "pipe, hot"..but then started crying a few minutes later. Joe high tailed it back home and put ice and aloe and lots of kisses on Joey's hand. Sunday (the next day) when he woke up from his nap, he had a very large blister covering the burn, so off we went to Children's in Roswell, to see the boo boo doctor. Luckily there were no kids there (quite different from cold season months and all the other times I have been there with Joey - usually a two hour wait), so we were in and out. The doctor gave us some silvadene, and wrapped up Joey's hand, it looked like a little cast (see picture). He's a little trooper, he didn't cry much over the entire thing, the doctor said he must have a high pain tolerance.

Monday morning Joe and I tried for awhile to get Joey to let us change the bandage but he wasn't having it. Finally Joe got the Elmo doll and bandaged up Elmo's hand, and Joey was still long enough for me to hold his hand while Joe put a fresh bandage on it. Tonight Joe is out of town and no such luck for me, I had to wait until Joey was asleep to change his bandage.

Emily was over Sunday, she is reluctantly in the picture, doesn't my husband look so young and refreshed in this picture with all 3 kiddo's? I bet he doesn't feel that way. Sorry honey I should have cropped out the dirty socks.

Christina was laughing over the weekend, just a short little laugh. She was in her crib and had one of my fingers in each hand. She kept bringing them up to her mouth to chew on my fingers and I would shake them away saying "don't you eat my fingers" and she would just grin and let out a little laugh. What a cutie.

Daddy Poo Poo Potty

Well, my dear husband is not reading my blog and I thought this was hilarious so I am blogging about it.

Yesterday morning I went into Joey's room to wake him up at 7, he was already awake and the first thing he said was (and grinning ear to ear) "Daddy Poo Poo Potty". I said "Yes Joey, daddy poo poo potty". He thought that was so funny he got the giggles. I guess I never know what Joey is going to say and what he thinks is so funny.

Joey's Nighty Night Routine

I had to blog about Joey's bedtime routine. We bought him a firetruck bed at a yard sale when he was 18 months old and he started sleeping in it right away. The first week was very difficult because he discovered he could climb in and out, in and out (repeat 50 times), but we finally got him to stay in his bed and sleep. So his nightly routine is this - he sits in his rocking chair or his elmo chair and mommy or daddy reads him books (in the picture I asked him to bring me some books to read, you can see the big pile). I read the same book 4 or 5 times and then tell him to get in his firetruck bed.

If the light on top has low or dead batteries, getting him to bed is extended by 10 minutes because he's not very happy with that. I hear "uh ohhh, battery dead, daddy fix"...after he gets in bed I have to read two or three more times to him (his favorite book these days is "pig picnic", he recites it along with me as I am reading because he's heard it so many times), then I turn out the light. Joey says "dark in here" (repeat 50 times), tries to push the limits by not getting out of his bed, but hanging his legs over the bed because he knows he's not supposed to get out (it's hard not to laugh), he tosses and turns and says every word he knows, we recite everyone we know that goes nighty nighty.

("Elmo goes nighty nighty? Daddy goes nighty night? Sissy goes nighty night? Big Bird goes nighty night? " etc

Then suddenly there is silence and he is asleep. Before he goes to sleep, we have to make sure he has his "truck pillow" which is a body pillow with trucks all over it his Aunt Sue made him, and I have to find the tag on his blanket and hand it to him. Then as he is falling asleep he makes demands for snacks, milk, "diaper wet", whatever he can do to not have to go asleep, when all I want to do is go to sleep. Once he is asleep though I have to go peek at him a couple of times because he just looks like a little angel.

I also thought I wuold post a picture of Joey's tractor (he calls it his mower), he just loves it, he rides it around the house and picks anything up with it and dumps it in his dump truck.

I also have to brag on my husband, he was on a panel of experts and an article was written up in mission critical magazine. You can go to http://www.missioncriticalmagazine.com/, open the link for 'a meeting of the minds' for the September 2008 issue. You can download the article as a pdf.

Excuse all the typos and grammatical errors, it's been a long day, so now I'm going to go nighty night.

Cute Pictures

It's Tuesday night 11:17 PM, I should be in bed but I just got done picking the kids up from daycare, dinner, laundry, playing, washing bottles, getting all the kids stuff for daycare, getting the kids to bed, putting the cushions back on the couch, picking up the 100 or so crayons Joey threw around the house etc etc. I had some cute pictures I had to post.

Emily was over this past weekend, here she is with her little sister

Here is Joey taking all the pots and pans out (he did put them back all by himself)

He ran out of pots and pans so here he is going for the bowls
